The Challenge

The group needed to integrate its processes using a single model for all companies. The company's procedures lacked best practice, were not standardised and required internal control.

The Advantages

  • Ferrum began to carry out stock queries immediately, optimising times by 90%.
  • Improved decision making by having traceability of transactions.
  • By implementing processes with the best practices proposed by SAP, we were able to improve controls and reduce time in some administrative processes.
  • The security of the system allowed us to implement a process flow with online approvals, saving days in this process.

The solution

With the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, the client was able to load, organise and collect orders directly on the platform and online, improving synergy with suppliers. It was possible to optimise traceability from the time an order is uploaded until it is delivered to the customer and to improve efficiency and agility in the customer's processes, reducing the analysis time of invoices or orders. It was also possible to unify the databases between the different companies in the group and facilitate the visualisation of this data. The project lasted 12 months and, in addition to the latest version of SAP ERP, the FICO, MM, SD, PP and QM modules were implemented for use by more than 240 users.

About Ferrum

Today, in Argentina, there are only 12 important industries of national capitals, which are more than 100 years old, Ferrum is one of them. The company has been a pioneer since its origins, both in industrial processes and in its social and labour role. Ferrum belongs to Grupo FV S.A., an Argentinean business group founded in 1899 in Germany. At that time it was dedicated to the production of beer taps for the home. It was in 1921 when the company founded FV S.A. in Buenos Aires and since then the company has been dedicated to manufacturing high quality products for the home.
