Migration of 20 years of history with SNP and IBM

The switch to S/4HANA is part of Colombina's strategy as part of its digital transformation process. The company intends to use it to accelerate initiatives in the areas of marketing, sales, trade and procurement that require the introduction of new technologies. Colombina's S/4HANA project - originally led by SNP partner IBM - initially started as a classic brownfield migration. Performance tests were carried out to determine the approximate downtime. However, the result was unacceptable to Colombina because of the associated economic losses. Finally, IBM proposed the SNP service and BLUEFIELD™ approach, but with a specific requirement: to preserve all source information (20 TB at that time) and complete the project with less than 48 hours of downtime.

NotCo, a journey to the intelligent enterprise with RISE with SAP by SNP and AWS

NotCo was looking for a software solution that would allow the organization to apply a technological software renewal to support its business processes and accompany its strategic objectives. The company had certain satellite systems and integrations with external financial systems that needed to be unified into a complete and robust system that could sustain the great progress of its growth. That is why SNP proposed an implementation of SAP S/4HANA Best Practices under the RISE with SAP modality.

Future-ready: carve-out, conversion to SAP S/4HANA and move to SAP S/4HANA Cloud in one step

At the end of 2020, Creaton announced the merger with Terreal, the French industry leader in roofing products and innovative solutions for building envelopes. Previously, the company belonged to the Etex Group. As a result, Creaton and its six company codes needed to be removed from the Etex system so that they could be set up in a new system. At the same time as this carve-out, the conversion took place from the previous SAP R/3 system to the latest system, SAP S/4HANA. Furthermore, the system had to be built in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition on Microsoft Azure. This meant that three highly complex subprojects needed to be optimally combined with each other and the end-to-end processes adapted to the new environment. In addition, all workstations, i.e. the entire workplace infrastructure, would be moved to the Azure 365 Cloud.

Schütz paves the way to SAP S/4HANA and further growth

For many years, Schütz has consistently relied on a globally standardized SAP system. Currently, the company uses SAP ERP ECC 6.08 and the migration to SAP S/4HANA is on the company’s agenda. The integration of new locations into the central SAP landscape is also planned. In order to reduce the complexity of the upcoming migration to SAP S/4HANA, Schütz has decided to run a preliminary project for the system harmonization in the areas Finance and Controlling. With the introduction of the New General Ledger and New Asset Accounting, the merge of controlling areas and the introduction of the group currency in FI/CO, Schütz has ambitious work packages. These had to be implemented within a limited time frame due to upcoming international SAP rollout projects.

PZ Cussons: selectively and rapidly reducing the size of SAP non-production systems

PZ Cussons main objective was to reduce the data footprint of its ECC and BW development systems by approximately 70%. This was important, not only, in order to save on infrastructure and run costs, but also to ensure that the system contained data representative of production.It was stipulated that the data within the systems should be based on a point in time, removing all data prior to June 2019 along with plants that were no longer in use. Additionally, material masters with a change date before June 2019 were also to be removed.The reduction was to take place directly in the target system. They did not want to delete the target system and transfer the reduced data from the productive system to the target system. In the BW System, a list of system tables would need to be evaluated to determine which tables could be reduced in addition to those considered in the standard.The company expects to save an average of USD 8 million annually in years to come due to the upgrade and future technology implementations that will build upon this foundation.

Software-supported logistics lead to more sales: SNP migrates Steiff to S/4HANA

Sales of Steiff’s children’s clothing and plush toys are largely characterized by seasonal business and campaigns. For example, more goods are sold at Easter and Christmas. In the fashion industry, sales fluctuate depending on the season and new collections. It is therefore particularly important to ensure that supply is tailored to the demand and the target group, so that goods are available when they are needed. After all, out-of-stock goods lead to lost sales and frustration for customers both young and old. With this in mind, Steiff planned to introduce software-supported logistics with its own distribution centers to increase flexibility and ensure precise deliveries. For this purpose, the existing SAP ERP system needed to be migrated to SAP S/4HANA. In the new system, the SAP industry solution “IS Retail” also had to be activated in order to map master data in detail. A selective transfer was planned for the data from the previous system.
