

The objective was to move 33 productive instances, 120 instances with more than 1,500 interfaces to other applications, 150 servers and 300 terabytes of data in the shortest possible time to the AWSCloud. The migration of the Argentinean company's most important landscape was carried out through the CrystalBridge® Transformation module (TF), allowing a downtime of only 24 hours. This greatly favored the company, whose stipulated downtime for this project was at least one week given the size of its server. The SAP cloud migration project was one of the most challenging ever. There were two main reasons for considering this a major task. Firstly, it was one of the largest and most complex migrations at the regional and global level; secondly, the project was completed in 14 months, working partially remotely due to the restrictions of the pandemic.
The project for YPF involved migrating 150 servers to the AWS Cloud over the course of a year. This translates into 112 live exits, one for each server migrated. In addition, 38 migration simulations were performed prior to the final migrations of the critical servers. On average, 3 to 4 migrations were executed per weekend. SNP Latam provided the team of migration consultants in charge and carried out the coordination together with AWS and YPF. The execution started to be carried out in person from July 2019 until February of the following year. Forced by the pandemic situation, it started to be carried out remotely until August. The work was carried out without deviations thanks to the team coordination and effort of SNP, AWS and YPF.
