• Heidelberg-based software company sets up scholarship in memory of company founder Dr. Andreas Schneider-Neureither, who died in 2020
  
  
• SNP SE Scholarship will provide initial financial help towards the academic education of two students in the Department of Physics per academic year starting in the winter semester of 2023/24
  
  

SNP’s founder Andreas Schneider-Neureither, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2020, had himself studied physics at Heidelberg University from 1987 to 1991, receiving his doctorate there in 1995 in the field of theoretical elementary particle physics. While still working on his doctorate, he founded what has now become a global company that still has its headquarters in Heidelberg. Schneider-Neureither had close ties to the region and was involved in various social, cultural and scientific projects throughout his life.

The current management under CEO Jens Amail would like to continue this tradition and is looking forward to the cooperation: “In memory of Andreas Schneider-Neureither and his great dedication, especially to children and young people who need a little help getting started in life for health or social reasons, awarding the SNP scholarship is particularly important to us. Education is the foundation of a good, self-determined life and a well-functioning society. The right to education is a fundamental right, and with the grant agreement, we hope to do our part by paving the way towards a bright future for students. The SNP SE Scholarship is aimed at first-year students as well as students who are studying or will study physics in a bachelor’s or master’s program at Heidelberg University. It will support two students each year and is initially being awarded for a period of two semesters. An extension is possible if all requirements are met.
