Here at SNP, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibility is more than a set of corporate commitments, it’s a mindset lived every day by our people. Our colleagues around the world bring this spirit to life through hands-on volunteering, donations, and educational initiatives that uplift children, families, and local communities. These everyday efforts reflect our belief that taking care of the world around us isn’t just part of our work, it’s part of who we are.

This commitment takes different forms across our regions.

Germany: Education, equality, and environmental care

SNP’s commitment to education is reflected through the SNP Scholarship in Heidelberg, established to honor our founder Andreas Schneider-Neureither. It supports physics students who show curiosity, talent, and dedication. Environmental protection is also an important part of our work in Germany. Our teams partner with NABU, one of Germany’s largest nature conservation organizations, and the Mauerseglerverein, a local association dedicated to protecting swifts and their nesting habitats, to help preserve biodiversity in the region.

Community care completes this picture: During the 2024 Christmas charity auction, colleagues came together to raise funds for three local organizations: Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. Heidelberg, assisting survivors of domestic violence; the Heidelberg animal shelter, supporting animal care and protection; and Kinderhospiz Sterntaler, which provides essential support for seriously ill children and their families.

In addition, SNP partners with KinderHelden, a mentoring program that promotes educational equality through one-on-one support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Slovakia: Hands-on support and a strong community spirit

The SNP teams in Bratislava, Banská Bystrica, and Žilina take pride in contributing directly to their neighborhoods. Every year, colleagues participate in the Our City (Naše Mesto) community project. Whether painting fences, renovating nurseries, or cleaning public spaces, employees come together to give back to local communities.

This spirit carries into the holiday season, when colleagues across Slovakia join the Christmas charity auction. From home-baked cookies to personal career coaching sessions, employees donate items from the heart, which are then bid on during the Christmas party. The funds raised support local nonprofit organizations, turning a festive gathering into an opportunity to make a real difference.

United States: Supporting inclusion and child welfare

In the United States, SNP’s community support centers on inclusion, stability, and giving children a voice through two powerful partnerships.

Front Porch Cohousing is a nonprofit founded by parents searching for a secure and compassionate home for their neurodivergent children. When they faced the daunting reality that long-term, supportive housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) was scarce, they turned that challenge into a mission: Creating neuro-inclusive communities where residents are protected from rising rents, displacement, and discrimination – an effort SNP is proud to contribute to.

Another long-standing partner is Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA). CASA volunteers serve as court-appointed advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, ensuring they receive consistent support and a voice in the legal system. Through donations and engagement, SNP employees help strengthen CASA’s mission of protection, permanency, and family reunification.

Latin America: Long-term support for vulnerable children

Across Latin America, SNP colleagues work closely with organizations that protect and empower vulnerable children. In Chile, we support Corporación Crecer Mejor, a nonprofit that has helped children and adolescents for more than three decades. Last time, employees donated personalized gifts for 45 girls preparing for a summer camp, including swimsuits, treats, and holiday accessories.

The volunteers then spent a day at the foundation, delivering the gifts in person, playing games, and creating a warm and joyful experience for the girls. Before the visit, the team took part in a preparation session to ensure sensitive and respectful interaction, and they carpooled to reduce environmental impact. The celebration used compostable materials, and colleagues collected and sorted waste for recycling and composting.

Later, the foundation’s director was invited to SNP’s New Year’s event, giving her the opportunity to share their mission with the wider team. SNP also committed to a long-term partnership with the organization, strengthening the foundation’s ongoing work for children and families.

Japan: Community clean-up and local engagement

In Japan, colleagues bring the spirit of community care into their everyday surroundings through the Chiyoda Ward CleanUp Day. By joining residents in cleaning streets and public spaces, the team helps create a safer, cleaner environment for everyone. It’s a small act, but one that reflects the same sense of responsibility, respect, and togetherness that guides SNP’s ESG efforts around the world.

Australia & New Zealand: Partnership, community support, and shared purpose

SNP colleagues in Australia recently joined the SAP community and our partner IBM for the SAP Ecosystem Regatta in Sydney, an annual charity event supporting Redkite, an organization that provides essential financial, emotional, and mental health support to families facing childhood cancer. The event showcased collaboration and a shared commitment to helping families during difficult times, reflecting the broader spirit of SNP’s ESG efforts.

A collective commitment to making a difference around the globe

Ultimately, ESG at SNP is built on countless small actions taken by colleagues around the world – gestures of care, moments of support, and decisions rooted in responsibility. When these individual efforts come together, they create a powerful collective impact that reaches far beyond our offices. Every initiative shared in this blog reflects SNP’s values of unity, care, and responsibility, and shows how deeply our people believe in making a positive difference.
